New Family Search
New Family Search is the wonderful website produced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to help members easily submit names of deceased ancestors for temple work.
To register you will need:
Your Membership Number + Your Birth Date
Then go to
http://new.familysearch.org
Your Membership Number is on your temple recommend; or you can contact your ward clerk.
2. Click Register for the new FamilySearch. (The green link under the sign-on boxes).
3. Enter your membership record number.
4. Enter your confirmation date.
5. Enter the security text displayed in the box. Letters are case-sensitive.
6. Click Continue.
7. The next screen should display your full name and confirmation date. If they are correct, click Yes, Continue.
8. Read the Conditions of Use, and if you agree, click I Agree.
9. If needed, edit your address, and enter your e-mail address. (Be sure to use your own e-mail address.) Click Continue.
10. Enter the sign-in name you would like to use. (The sign-in name is NOT case sensitive.) Click Continue.
11. Enter the password you would like to use. (The password is NOT case sensitive.) Click Continue.
12. Choose and answer three questions that will be used to recover your password if you forget it. Try to choose one-word answers, as these are easier to remember. (The answer must be typed EXACTLY as it was originally entered.) Click Continue.
13. Enter the name you would like to be identified by in the contact name field. Click Continue.
14. Select the contact information you would like others to be able to see when you make a contribution to the new FamilySearch. Click Continue.
15. Review your information for accuracy. If you would like to print a copy for your records, click Print. If you need to edit information, click Edit next to the information you would like to change.
16. When you are finished, click Done. If you do not click the Done button, your registration will not take effect.
The first step is DONE!
Now that you are registered, you can immediately start linking your family together and looking for temple work that you can do.
